The TLC Speech-Language Pathologists are California State licensed and nationally recognized by ASHA (American Speech-Language and Hearing Association). Each therapist possesses a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) and a clinical services teaching credential issued by the State of California Commission on Teacher Credentialing. Amy Henderson, M.A., CCC-SLP Amy is a native of San Diego. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Speech and Hearing Science at the University of Arizona. Upon the completion of her undergraduate studies, she earned her Master of Art degree in Communicative Disorders at California State University, Long Beach. Amy has always possessed a strong passion for helping children and their families. In her experience, she has gained universal knowledge through working with pediatrics in a variety of settings including hospitals, public schools, preschool programs and private clinics. Her experience as a behavioral therapist for children with Autism has also added to the value of Amy’s comprehensive therapeutic approach to speech and language therapy. She is a strong advocate of a multidisciplinary team approach. She is PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System) trained. Her experience includes the implementation of PECS into therapy programs as an alternative communication system and/or to enhance a child’s overall language abilities. Amy is Hanen certified in “IT TAKES TWO TO TALK” program for parents. The Hanen program was designed to educate parents of children with language delays/disorders. In addition, she is trained in PROMPT (Prompts for Restructuring Oral Muscular Target). Amy is a member and supporter of the Autism Society of America-San Diego chapter. Kripa Krishnan, M.S. CCC-SLP Originally from Sacramento, Kripa earned her B.A. in Speech-Language Patholgoy at California State University, Sacramento and went on to obtain her M.S. in Speech-Language Pathology in Sacramento as well. She has worked in a variety of settings, including public schools and private clinics. Her interests include autism, language delays, articulation, fluency, and social language groups. Prior to becoming a speech-language pathologist, Kripa was trained in ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) and worked with children with autism for several years as a one-to-one behavioral therapist in various in-home programs and a specialized school. |
