In-Home Services

The Link to Communication (TLC) is dedicated to providing the highest quality speech and language services based on the child’s individual needs. We offer the following pediatric services to ensure each child is receiving the most comprehensive care to enhance their overall communication skills.

  • Initial Screening and Identification
    • 10-minute screening designed to determine if speech and language skills need to be further assessed
  • Comprehensive Evaluation/Assessment
    • Includes parent interview, case history, oral mechanism exam and  standardized/non-standardized assessments to evaluate the child’s overall communication abilities  
  • Designing and planning of speech & language treatment programs
    • Recommendations are made
    • Goals and objectives are established
  • Direct delivery of the speech and language program
    • One-on-one speech and language therapy sessions targeting the child’s specific goals and objectives
  • Case management
    • Update reports written quarterly stating the child’s progress toward established goals and objectives
    • Parent Consultation immediately following every therapy session
  • Consultation with, and referral to agencies and other professionals providing services to the pediatric population and their families
    • Continual contact with other members of the team, including parents, teachers, doctors and other specialists
    • Availability to attend IEP meeting

Preschool Services

The Link to Communication (TLC) provides speech and language services to preschools throughout San Diego County.  Speech and language screenings typically are conducted once a year. Research has indicated that early identification of speech and language deficits and early intervention create the greatest opportunities for success in the future:
