The Link to Communication (TLC) strongly believes that parent involvement and education are vital components of the therapy process. Parents ultimately are the most influential people in the child’s life. Therefore, it is essential that they are provided with the necessary information and strategies to facilitate the development of their child’s communication skills. Parent education provides parents with practical techniques to maximize their child’s overall success. Following each therapy session, parents will continually be provided with new strategies and techniques to reinforce their child’s speech and language skills at home and beyond.

  • How to use language with their child in ways that improve the child’s ability to understand and express him or herself
  • How to play with their child and use toys, books, music, and creative activities as opportunities to enhance communication
